Hi, I’m Julian Annis, founder and owner of Down Under Lawn & Landscape Solutions.
My story starts in Perth, Australia, where I grew up on a citrus farm my grandfather built from the ground up. That’s where my passion for horticulture and landscaping first began, and it’s something I’ve carried with me throughout my life.
Although I spent 45 years in Australia, Baton Rouge has always been part of my story. My mother was born and raised here, and after years of visiting back and forth, Louisiana eventually became my permanent home. In 2018, I made the move — thanks to a Louisiana girl who made it official — and I’ve been proud to plant my roots here ever since.
Before starting this business, I managed a local company for 7 years, guiding it through major growth. Along the way, friends and neighbors often told me I should go professional after seeing the landscape projects I had completed on my own. That encouragement, combined with a lifetime of hands-on learning, inspired me to take the leap and launch Down Under Lawn & Landscape Solutions.
My background is diverse — from military service and business management to years in aviation and even a stint on a drill rig. Each of those careers demanded discipline, attention to detail, integrity, and performance under pressure. Those same qualities define how we run this business today.
